5 of 5 Handguard removal option May 6, 2017

I have a 2016 Hypermotard 939SP.  The install takes 30 mins. per side.  The kit has:  longer bolts for the radiator, zip ties and heat shrink tubing.  Quick connectors are not included.

Make sure to run the NRC wires between the radiator and the air scoop--not through the scoop.  This gives you more wire length.  Put the heat shrink tubing on one wire set before attempting to connect.  This step is always easy to forget.

I decided to splice and solder the wires, which this is the most difficult part of the install.  I did it on the bike in the garage.  The space is tight and it helps to have alligator clips.

My only gripe is the OEM wire is copper and the NRC wire is   aluminum and will not hold a twist.  This is why soldering is better.  Tin each wire, clip them together, put a dab of solder on the gun tip and fuse them.  Black to black and red to green.

The NRC blinker rate matches the OEM signal without extra parts.
